General Officer Commanding Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area Lieutenant General SK Prashar on Monday visited Army establishments in Nagpur and Kamptee as well as Pulgaon in Wardha district, a Defence release said.

He was briefed about the role played by the Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area in operations, humanitarian aid in disaster relief and ex-servicemen welfare amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The GOC appreciated the preparedness and efforts of the Sub Area in extending support to the civil administration during the peak crisis of COVID and disaster relief during flood and fire incidents.
He also visited the Guards Regimental Centre in Kamptee where he paid tribute at the War Memorial and then saw recruit training and initiatives of the administration, the release added.
“GOC interacted with the recruits and training staff and exhorted all ranks to continue to strive towards excellence. He appreciated the Centre”s training facilities, which include the field craft circuit and the counter insurgency village,” it said.
