Lt Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan launched the vaccination for those above 18 years at the ESI hospital here Thursday.
She congratulated those in the age group of 18 to 44 years who turned up for vaccination.
Later, she told reporters she was glad to see that there was enthusiastic response from people above 18 years.
“They are the warriors and should act as ambassadors of the programme. While the elders were virtually hesitant in getting the vaccination the youth were showing keen interest and they should motivate others to get vaccinated particularly when there was the possibility of the third, fourth and fifth waves occurring in course of time,” the Lt Governor added.
