SIMS Hospital, a leading health facility from the house of SRM Group, on Tuesday launched the ‘Hello Doctor 2001 2001’, entirely new facility to treat patients at the convenience of their homes, especially senior citizens, pregnant women and for post surgery treatments.
The new facility claimed to be the first in the health sector was inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Medical and Family Welfare Minister Ma Subramanian.
The ‘Hello Doctor 2001 2001’ was conceptualized to provide both home healthcare services as well as acute hospital care at home.

The minister said the top class medical infrastructure at this hospital was the role model for the entire world. It was evident when the then Mayor and Chief Minister M K Stalin had received JRD Tata Memorial Award for excellence in improving the medical infrastructure of the Chennai Corporation between 1996 and 2001, the minister added.
Detailing the steps taken to reach out to the poor and downtrodden through the ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam’ and also safeguarding the people met with accidents through ‘Innyuir Kappom’, the minister said ‘SIMS Hospital has been at a new level of leveraging latest innovations and technology to ensure patients get the care they need. Now with the launch of Hello Doctor – 2001 2001 initiative, SIMS is set to provide its proven quality hospital-level services beyond its existing walls and stays committed to ensure patients get the care they need in their home too. In addition to being helpful to the senior citizens, I am confident that Hello Doctor-2001 2001 will play a critical role in treating more than 50 acute conditions safely in home settings with proper treatment protocols.”

As part of Hello Doctor – 2001 2001, SIMS Hospital has launched four-wheeler vehicles equipped with all the necessary features and created a special call centre facility with more than 20 trained professionals specifically to manage this program.
The Hello Doctor 2001 2001 has been designed to provide continuous SIMS hospital-level health care in the comfort of their homes to the residents of Chennai with proper monitoring and treatment protocols, supplemented with virtual care. While the program is launched to serve mainly elderly patients and children, the treatment for more than 50 different acute conditions can be treated appropriately and safely in home settings with timely in-person care from a team led by a doctor and nurse practitioner. Through the Hello Doctor service, SIMS Hospital also aims to provide post discharge care for patients at the comfort of their home. In an effort to offer precise guidance and treatment, the hospital also encourages citizens to use Hello Doctor service to understand about various medical ailments and get timely consultation from doctors.
