The family of Lavanya has demanded a CBI probe in the suicide case. Lavanya’s parents said that they do not trust the probe of Tamil Nadu Police and want CBI to investigate the matter. The family alleged that the police is ignoring religious conversion part and only focusing on harassment by the nuns.
The Madras high court on Friday reserved orders in a plea seeking transfer of investigation into the suicide of Lavanya. The plea was filed by Muruganantham, the girl’s father, who submitted that Thanjavur SP had stated that there was no complaint of religious conversion. Stating that the credibility of the investigation was at stake, the petitioner demanded a CBI probe.
