Major General Arvind Kapoor, Additional Director General, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, visited the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat camp of Gujarat and Uttarakhand NCC contingent at NCC Group Headquarters, Law Garden here on Friday.

He was received by Brigadier NK Raijada, Group Commander, NCC Group, Ahmedabad and given a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the cadets. Thereafter, he was given a brief roundup and presentation of activities undertaken in the camp since September 2. It is being conducted at Law Garden Complex, Ahmedabad from September 2 to 13, 2022.

Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Major General Arvind Kapoor, said, “The EBSB camp of NCC is an annual camp for national integration conducted between the paired states. It is meant to foster a sense of unity and nationalism amongst the NCC cadets and familiarising them with the paired states. This year Gujarat and Uttrakhand are the paired states. 150 cadets from Uttarakhand and 250 from Gujarat are taking part in this event. The broad objectives of the camp are to celebrate unity in diversity of the nation and to maintain and strengthen the fabric of traditionally existing emotional bonds between people of the country.”

Major General Arvind Kapoor delivered a motivational talk and felicitated the NCC cadets of Ahmedabad NCC Gp for their contribution towards NCC, including the cadets of Uttarakhand Directorate for their outstanding performance in the EBSB camp. Quiz and debate competitions were also held during the course of the camp.

All students were taken out for a heritage tourism in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar as part of the EBSB camp.

According to the NCC cadets, learning the language of each other viz Gujarati and Pahari language of Northern Region is one of the highlights of the camp. In addition, learning resources about cuisine and food habits, tourism sites and cultural programmes of the states have been shared extensively.
