Chandigarh-based Allengers Medical Systems Limited, makers of digital healthcare equipment in Digital Radiography Systems, DRF Systems, Digital Mammography System with Tomosynthesis, DSA Systems, on Friday announced the launch of ACUTOM 32 – A 32 slice CT scanner in Gandhinagar.
Commenting on the launch, Suresh Sharma, CMD, Allengers Medical Systems Limited, said, “ Allengers strongly believes in synchronized efforts towards a quality driven organization, a customer minded approach and system efficiency. In this direction, Allengers is the first company of Indian origin MNC to manufacture a CT scanner in India.” Allengers now launches ACUTOM 32 – A 32 slice CT scanner.
Sharma added that, “Accutom32 is jointly developed by Allengers and Canon Medical Systems Corporation, Japan and will be manufactured using Canon Medical’s CT kit. In the true spirit of Indo-Japan collaboration, this product embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of India and the engineering excellence of Japan.”
When asked about the technical tie-up, Sharma said, “The gantry and couch are manufactured by Allengers technical team and the system is developed with the support of Canon Medical. Initially, we will supply this CT scanner to the Indian healthcare sector to make the cost of diagnosis affordable. Later we will export to our clients in 96 countries.”
Dr Hemant Patel of Samved Hospital and the Organising Secretary of the 73rd Annual Conference of the Indian Radiological & Imaging Association said, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’, healthcare equipment are now being manufactured in India. We congratulate Allengers Medical Systems Limited for choosing to launch their CT scanner at IRIA conference Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar in Gujarat.”
Dr Harshad Shah, and Dr Dinesh Patel, Organising Chairmen of IRIA and Dr Asutosh Dave, organizing secretary were present at the CT scanner launch event.
On the price of CT scanner, Allengers Director-Sales Ashu Goyal said, “We will price it, initially, 15 percent less than the imported CT Scanner. Once the production is scaled up, we will reduce the price up to 25 percent. However, we have not finalized Accutom32 price at present.”
Goyal further added, “Allengers has an in-house Govt of India recognized research and development centre. The company spends 12 to 15 percent of its annual revenue for R&D and quality control. Considering expansion, 22 acres of land have been acquired near the company’s existing manufacturing set up.”
