With the advent of digitisation and paperless education system, handwriting skill is not given much importance and the present-day generation does not know the antiquated writing instrument – fountain pens- long forgotten and relegated to the back of cluttered desk drawers, buried under “stuff” as ball pens have replaced them. Fountain pens ruled the world of knowledge and will continue to do so in the years to come also.
In celebration of World Book Day on Tuesday, April 23rd, Makoba, a renowned company headquartered in Chennai, known as the fountain pen capital of India, paid rich tribute to the passion and emotion of fountain pens by launching Montegrappa’s Paradiso & Visconti’s Galileo Galilei Fountain Pens dipped in the past, and set to write the future, priced Rs 6.92 lakh and Rs 6.3 lakh, respectively.
Fountain pens have a rich history that dates back to the emergence of quill or reed pens, which were dipped in ink to write. Today, modern fountain pens come with machine-made nibs and advanced ink flow systems, offering a smooth writing experience without the risk of leaking or spilling ink.
