Athmalaya, an institution imparting Bharathanatyam dance classes exclusively for women since 1998, has completed 25 eventful years. As part of it Silver Jubilee Celebrations, a Mega Dance Carnival exclusively for women will be held on Saturday, announced Mala Bharath, Founder and Artistic Director here on Thursday.

Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Mala Bharath, said, “As part of our Silver Jubilee Celebrations, we are planning to organize a Mega Dance Carnival exclusively for women. It is going to be a unique event named ‘Athmalaya SilveRazzmatazz’. The theme is ‘Folk Dances of India.’ The event will have folk dances being performed by women aged between 25 and 80.”
”Mala has been successfully running Athmalaya with a team of 17 competent teachers and over 200 students from several parts of the world through direct and online classes. She also conducts corporate workshops and is creating a long-lasting impact in the lives of several women spreading the joy of dance.”
The celebrations will be held from 4pm – 9 pm on Saturday at Mantra Gardens, Nandanam, Chennai and is open to all. However, registration is mandatory.
“The women who come for the carnival will also be able to learn some folk steps and dance for the music. There are going to be several dance related games for the participants to play and win prizes. It’s a cultural celebration with interactive activities. It will be a colourful evening of music, dance and food where women can unwind and celebrate the joy of dancing and carry cherished memories,” Mala added.
