TN coronavirus patient being treated at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, with this, the number of persons found infected with coronavirus rose to 34 across the nation. In the wake escalation of coronavirus cases across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the measures taken by the concerned ministries on Saturday evening.
The 45-year-old Tamil Nadu man, who tested positive for the Coronavirus, is a resident of Kancheepuram district and was working in Oman.

Dr P Sampath, the State’s Deputy Director of Public Health, said the patient, a resident of Kanchipuram, had landed in Chennai on February 28. He consulted a doctor at his home town after developing cough and fever. Since he didn’t get relief and started developing breathing difficulty, he was referred to Chennai’s Stanley hospital. It was from here that there he was shifted to the coronavirus isolation ward at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.
On Saturday, the National Institute of Virology, Pune confirmed that the sample sent to them had tested positive. Contact tracing has started. Eight members of his family and 19 others have been kept under observation at their homes.

Two positive cases were also reported from Ladakh. Both the patients had a travel history to Iran. All three are in a stable condition.
Two other people from Punjab who had returned from Italy also tested positive in a preliminary test of their samples which had been sent to AIIMS, Delhi.
Their samples have been sent to Pune for confirmation. The two have been admitted to the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar, government sources said.
