AHMEDABAD, SEPT 25
To perpetuate the spirit of “Matridevo Bhav Pitridevo Bhav“, Manavseva Charitable Trust will construct the world’s largest ‘Sadbhavana Old Age Home ‘ on 30 acres of on Rajkot-Jamnagar highway at Rampar in Rajkot. It will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 300 crores. It will have 1,400 rooms an can accommodate 5000 destitute, bed ridden, sick elders in 7 new buildings of 11 floors each. Ramkatha of the most reverend Saint Shri Morari Bapu will be organised in Rajkot from November 23 to December 1, 2024 to raise the fund, announced International Convener cum General Secretary of Hindu Dharmacharya Mahasabha, President of Sri Shivananda Ashram Ahmedabad and Patron of Sadbhavana Old Age Home Param Pujya Paramatmananda Saraswatiji here on Wednesday.
Speaking with the media, Param Pujya Paramatmananda Saraswatiji said, “In the present time, the spirit of “Matridevo Bhava” – “Pitru Devo Bhava” have decreased. The need of the hour is that more and more people should join the service of elders who have no one to depend on. Over the past few years, the “less child Jai Gopal” mentality has reduced the number of children in the family and joint families have ceased to exist. Due to such reasons, old age becomes very painful for elders of all strata of society, whether they are wealthy or their children are married abroad or they have left their native land and are living in any corner of India for employment purposes, the elders of the house become destitute. The worst condition is that of the working class, such as rickshaw pullers, beggers, laborers, housewives, etc. The condition is worst when they are physically unable to do anything. Seeing the condition of such people in the society, Sadbhavana Vridashram has been planned out of compassion for them. In Sadbhavana Old age home , all the volunteers serve selflessly. The entire team of Sadbhavana Old age home was blessed by the presence of elderly people serving in the institution which led to the growth of Sadbhavana Sansthan. Presently, about 650 elderly people are being served, in which more than 200 elders are bed ridden and in “diapers”, the volunteers who prepare them, change their clothes, feed them, also work diligently.”
Param Pujya Paramatmananda Saraswatiji further said, “With the continuous blessings of the elders which the organization receives and the collection of donations from pious, charitable donors from all over Gujarat and especially from Rajkot, the Manav Seva Charitable Trust is constructing this new old age home to accommodate 5,000 elders with 1,400 rooms in 30 acres of land at Rampar on the Rajkot-Jamnagar Highway. It will be completed in approximately next two years. This new old age home will have all the latest facilities, including temple, Annapurna house, library, exercise equipment, yoga room, dispensary, garden, community hall, and so on. Manav Seva Charitable Trust is an attempt to organize ‘Na Bhuto Na Bhavishyati’ kind of divine planning as a whole.”
Vijay Dobriya, President of Sadbhavana Old Age Home, said, “Socially or physically challenged persons of any age, without discrimination of caste or religion, are warmly welcomed in Sadbhavana Old Age Home. At Sadbhavana Vriddashram we are not doing not only tree plantation but also preserves and nurtures trees as part of environmental conservation, so far more than 30 lakh trees have been planted with cages in Gujarat and 70 lakh trees through Miyawanki forests with 400 tankers, 400 tractors and 1,600 salaried staff. The organization aims to plant and nurture 150 crore trees across India.”
Mital Khetani, advisor of Sadbhavna Vriddashram, said, “To raise fund for the proposed old age home in Rajkot, after 12 years, a global Ram Katha of Pujya Morari Bapu has been organized for the benefit of the elderly and elders. Shankaracharya of Dwarka Shardapith Pujya Shri Sadanand Saraswatiji, and Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshvardham have blessed this humanitarian initiative.
