In a resounding testament to its operational supremacy, Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla has become the fastest Major Port in India to cross the 100 Million Metric Ton (MMT) cargo-handling mark in FY 2025–26, achieving the feat significantly earlier than in any previous fiscal.
This high-velocity performance cements DPA Kandla’s position as the country’s most dependable and growth-driven maritime gateway.

A Landmark Maritime Achievement

The early 100 MMT milestone reflects the port’s exceptional efficiency across liquid, dry bulk, break-bulk and container cargo. It also gives a strong push to India’s aspiration of building world-class port-led infrastructure under the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision.

DPA’s stellar run directly accelerates:

  • India’s global maritime competitiveness
  • Growth of national EXIM trade
  • Logistics efficiency across Gujarat and northern hinterlands
  • Ease of doing business for industries and port users

How DPA Reached the 100 MMT Mark at Record Speed

The achievement is powered by:

  • Round-the-clock marine and berth productivity
  • Improved cargo evacuation & hinterland connectivity
  • Upgraded yards, digital systems & logistics infrastructure
  • Seamless inter-departmental coordination
  • Relentless efforts of port workers, officers, pilots, stevedores & trade partners

The collaborative efforts of the Traffic, Marine, Mechanical, Civil, Finance, CISF and Administration wings ensured uninterrupted operations and strengthened cargo flow management.

Chairman’s Message

Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman, DPA, congratulated the entire DPA fraternity and trade community, stating: “Crossing 100 Million Tons in record time is a proud moment for DPA Kandla and for the maritime fraternity of India. This achievement is the result of the relentless commitment and teamwork of our Shramik brothers & sisters, officers, employees, workers, marine crew, port users, stakeholders, stevedores, vessel agents, trade partners and every individual who contributes to the 24×7 functioning of this Port.

DPA Kandla stands fully aligned with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of positioning the maritime sector of this country as a leader on the global map and towards achieving the goals set under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. We are not only setting new operational benchmarks but also leading India’s green maritime transformation through Green Hydrogen and renewable energy initiatives.

This milestone is a collective achievement and a stepping stone to even greater accomplishments in the coming months.”

Poised for Bigger Milestones Ahead

With major infrastructure expansions, digitalisation initiatives, renewable energy adoption and capacity augmentation projects progressing rapidly, DPA Kandla is set to scale new national benchmarks and elevate India’s standing in global maritime logistics.

DPA’s historic 100 MMT breakthrough stands as a shining example of how speed, precision and innovation can redefine the future of Indian port excellence.
