To ease the difficulty of non-English knowing masses to find their match online, after much on-field research from different sectors who have not bagged their basic degree courses, the matrimony.com has come out with a regional language App in Tamil ‘Jodii’ with easy to browse features at low cost. The app is accessible to people from all walks of life.

Addressing the media conference, Murugavel Janakiraman said, “The aim of developing the all new regional language app is to open up online matchmaking to a wider sections of non-English knowing population and hope this would be a game-changer in empowering women to take decision on choosing their match, as the language will not be a hindrance to ensure their rights.”
As the penetration of internet even in remote corners of the country and also android mobile phones will bring those indulging in unorganized way of match-making within their community or their known circles, he added.
Explaining the salient features of ‘Jodii’ Tamil app, Sai Chitra, Product Manager of matrimony.com said the app is easy to use, seeks basic information of those registering for search their match. With a view to weed out fake registration, verification of ID proof is mandatory for registration, she said.
While the registration is free, one has to pay a minimum sum of Rs. 900 for three months, Rs. 1,500 for six months and Rs. 2,700 for one year.
After learning the experiencing the Tamil Nadu market, the company may expand the app to other Indian languages. The app is available in Google Play Store.
Recently, the company expanded its presence in Bangladesh and is mulling to capture the online match-making market in Sri Lanka soon, said Murugavel Janakiraman.
