Singing sensation Yogita Patel, a small-town girl or khiraiya of Gujarat is now making waves in the world of Gujarati Music Industry with her melodious and scintillating voice.
Hailing from a very small hamlet named Mithapur (Chalala) in Amreli district of Gujarat, Yogita Patel believed in making it big in life. She started her career as a singer at a very young age. Being the only child to her parents, she is very dear to them. Her father was a small farmer and earning a variable chunk, but she never gave up her hope and had a dream to become a well-known Folkstar in Gujarat.
Motivational force
Incidentally, she started her singing career at the tender age of nine. Initially, she got an opportunity to sing folk songs at an event to raise funds for a building in a nearby village Jesingpara, Amreli. She was awarded Rs 50 for her debutant performance. This has motivated her to become a professional singer.
Career launch with concrete foundation
An academically bright student, Yogita scored 99 marks out of 100 in Music subject in the 12th Board Exam. Thus her parents got to know that Music was her first true love, passion, and dedication to singing would help build a bright career.
Undaunted by adversities she managed to complete her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature along with her passion for music – Sangeet Visharad degree – from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva University in Sangli, Maharashtra as a strong foundation to launch her career in music.
The solid support of parents and in-laws
Her parents always motivated her to shape and nurture her career in Gujarati Music Industry. After getting married to a private schoolteacher, she never thought that she could ever make it possible to continue her passion, But her husband and In-laws proved her wrong and became her back-bone to fulfill her desire. Yogita’s career took a leap forward because of their support and since then she never looked back.
Going places
She appeared in plenty of live shows in various places in different regions like Sangli and Puna (Maharashtra), and Rajkot, Amreli in Gujarat.
Versatility is her forte
She is not only a singer but also a very good composer. She has also written some of the Gujarati songs for her albums. Her well-known albums are Ame Kanbi Kathiyawadi, Parewadu, Panetar, Ladkdi and Avsar na Todle.
She had also performed with some of the famous Gujarati Singers like Kirtidan Gadhvi, Mayabhai Aahir, Rajbha Gadhavi, Sairam Dave, Khimji Bharvad, etc. Her melodious voice, reliability and jolly nature attract many show organizers towards her.
