MICA, Ahmedabad, on Tuesday announced that it is gearing up to host the 8th International Communication Management Conference (ICMC 2022) virtually, commencing Wednesday, January 05, 2022. Spanning over three days, the conference based on the theme ‘The Future of Business in a Digital Era: Data, Analytics, and Narratives’ will bring over 300 research scholars and industry experts to discuss and understand the newer narratives in a changing world.
ICMC will have the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, as its academic partner this year. With industry-led talks, business leaders’ panels, and teach-in sessions with experts, the conference platform will provide insights into emerging narratives, ideas, practices, and approaches into the future of business in a digital era.
Lord Patel of Bradford, Lifetime Member, Peer of the British Parliament (House of Lords), Director & Chair Yorkshire County Cricket Club will deliver the keynote address. The valedictory function’s chief guest will be Prof. Jaideep Prabhu, Professor of Marketing at The University of Cambridge.

As a precursor to the conference, ICMC hosted a Young Scholars and Researchers Consortium (YSRC) on January 4, in which Praveen Nijhara, CEO of Hansa Research, delivered the welcome address.
Paper titles
The papers submitted for the conference are around the themes such as ‘Artificial Intelligence and Digital Engagement,’ ‘Leveraging Data and Technology to Enhance Customer Experiences,’ ‘Data- Driven Firm Cultures,’ and many more. Some of the paper titles include ‘Fintech Operations: Challenges in the management of Data related issues,’ ‘Negativity Influence on Review Helpfulness: A Study of Customer Reviews on Amazon.in’, ‘A Comparative Analysis of Student’s Experience with Online institutional learning Vs. Personal Ed-tech learning’, ‘Activist Content Sharing and Creation of Narratives on Social-Media: The Role of Human Behavior,’ Moderating Effect of Augmented Reality Interactive Technology on Instagram’s Social Commerce,’ ‘Our Cyborg Selves: The Body as Data in a Digital Age,’ to name a few.
Interestingly, ICMC 2022 will also host panel discussions on ‘The Future of Digital and Data-Driven Businesses,’ ‘First Principles of Digital Marketing,’ and ‘Building Marketing AI Strategy for Competitive Advantage – Strategic Perspectives.’
Prize money
To encourage research, MICA, Ahmedabad, has increased the prize money. The best paper will receive Rs. 4,00,000 (USD 5,350), the runner-up will receive Rs. 2,00,000 (USD 2,675), and the second runner-up will receive Rs. 1,00,000 (USD 1,340).

On January 6, Dr. John McAleer, Renowned Historian and Associate Professor of History, and Prof. Sabu Padmadas, Globally Acclaimed Demographer and Professor of Global Health, will walk the attendees through the history and culture of Southampton.
