MICA, India’s premier institute for Strategic Marketing and Communication, on Wednesday announced that it has witnessed an increase in the highest stipend offered to its students for the 2-month summer placements for the batch 2021- 23. The institute continued its 100 percent placement record for the 28th batch of its flagship PGDM-C and PGDM program.

As many as 67 firms participated in the summer placement process, albeit virtually. The FMCG sector offered the highest stipend at Rs 3.5 lakhs against Rs.3.2 lakhs last year, followed by the IT sector, offering Rs 2.5 lakhs against Rs 2.4 lakhs last year. The Media and Advertising sector recorded the highest stipend at Rs 1,60,000.

- Major recruiters included LÓreal, ITC Limited, Mahindra Group, Microsoft, The Coca Cola Company, Flipkart, Google India, Nivea, Tata Consumer Products Ltd., Procter & Gamble, Diageo, among others.
- New recruiters included The Coca Cola Company, Microsoft, Intel India, Wonderlab, Redbus, CoinDCX, Adani Solar, Cupshup, Gameberry Labs, Agri10x, Manash Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd. (Purplle.com), etc.
- Of the 178 students who participated in summer placements, 48.9 percent were females, and 51.1 percent were males
Of the 178 students who participated in summer placements, 48.9 percent were females, and 51.1 percent were males. The batch comprised 38 percent engineers, 33 percent commerce graduates, 7 percent from Arts and Humanities, 7 percent from Media, and 16 percent from other disciplines.
In terms of offers, the IT/ITES sector made 56 offers followed by Media and Advertisement and the FMCG sector at 49 and 30 offers respectively.
Commenting on this, Madhu Mohan TS, Head, Corporate and Alumni Relations at MICA, said, “The trend of organizations hiring from MICA for summer internships has been northwards this season. The general sentiment of industry returning to pre-pandemic times and specific segments looking for talent has helped the students land in Reputed organizations with increased numbers, roles, and stipends. EdTech, Fintech and Agritech are the sunshine sectors that are eying for talent from MICA in addition to all the segments like Advertising / Branding, FMCG, FMCD, Marketing Consulting, Analytics, IT / ITeS, e-Commerce and others. Virtual Processes have been a smooth transition, and both organizations and students have adapted very well to this. We are hopeful that the Final Placement season would be a hybrid model.” Students were offered internships in Sales & Marketing, Digital Engagement, Brand Digital Strategy, and Marketing, Market Research, Business Development, Corporate Relations, Online Marketing, Strategic Research, Market analysis, etc. RECRUITERS: Significant recruiters included LÓreal, ITC Limited, Mahindra Group, Microsoft, The Coca Cola Company, Flipkart, Google India, Nivea, Tata Consumer Products Ltd., Procter & Gamble, Diageo, among others.
