MICA on Tuesday announced that it is now ‘Great Place to Work’ certified, a global title on workplace culture. The Great Place to Work Certification acknowledges organisations that exhibit an outstanding workplace environment and practices for their employees. The assessment is based on a model that evaluates an organization’s culture and people practices based on the Trust Index and Culture Audit.
Dr Shailendra Raj Mehta, President & Director, MICA, said, “We are honoured and grateful to our community for their trust in MICA. To be recognised as an ‘Employer of Choice’ reinforces our commitment to create a community that fosters equal opportunities and sparks creativity along with inclusive engagement practices.”
With employee feedback and external evaluation being the basis of the certification, MICA uniquely scored high in multiple areas. The anonymous assessment gathered employee feedback on five key dimensions: Credibility, Respect, Fairness, Pride, and Camaraderie.
Speaking of workplace culture, Dr Githa Heggde, Dean, MICA, shared, “This is a proud moment for us and another feather in our hat that serves as a reminder of our commitment to prioritizing the well-being and growth of our people. Creating a great workplace goes beyond just a physical space; it fosters an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute meaningfully. Thus, we strive to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth, ensuring every community member has the support and resources needed to excel.”
Great Place to Work is the global authority on workplace culture. Since 1992, they have surveyed over 100 million employees worldwide and used those deep insights to define what makes a great workplace.
Sharing details about various initiatives that nurture work culture, Snigdha Mandal, Head of Human Resources and Process Excellence at MICA, said, “The culture at MICA is inclusive, democratic, competitive, and outcome-oriented. By nurturing a culture that values creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement, we empower our employees to innovate and drive positive change.
Some initiatives that make MICA unique are wellness programs, free access to learning resources, training programs to upskill our employees, retreats, recognition and rewards, recreational activities – Festivals and Sports, Mediclaim & Term Insurance Coverage. MICA was also unique in providing COVID insurance protection, vaccination & free meals for the affected, to name a few employee initiatives.”
