In a significant contribution to India’s communication and development landscape, the Centre for Development Management and Communication (CDMC) at MICA Ahmedabad, in collaboration with Routledge UK, unveiled the book Strategic Communication for Impactful Partnership at DIDAC INDIA 2025—the country’s premier exhibition on educational resources and skill development—held at the Yashobhoomi India International Convention & Expo Centre, Dwarka.
The book is jointly authored by three distinguished professionals: Prof. Manisha Pathak Shelat (Chair, CDMC, MICA), Prof. Ruchi Tewari (CMO, MICA), and Sushama Oza (veteran development strategist). It was launched in the esteemed presence of Dr. Rajni Kant, renowned public health expert and ICMR-National Chair for Disease Elimination, who served as the chief guest.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Rajni Kant said, “Strategic communication unites diverse stakeholders around a shared mission. From disease elimination to national campaigns, these principles have repeatedly proven transformative. This book is essential reading for public health professionals, policymakers and development leaders.”
Prof. Manisha Pathak Shelat highlighted the book’s collaborative spirit, noting, “Every milestone in my career has been built on partnerships. This book is born of that ethos—co-created with colleagues and long-standing partners. It is more than a guide; it’s a roadmap for building lasting, meaningful impact.”
Prof. Ruchi Tewari underscored the book’s contemporary relevance:
“Today’s social and developmental challenges demand communication frameworks rooted in research and real-world application. This book delivers precisely that.”
Reflecting on her four decades of experience, Sushama Oza added, “Effective communication converts intent into impact. The lessons distilled in this publication will benefit the next generation of practitioners and leaders.”
A New Blueprint for Partnerships
Drawing from global scholarship and India-focused case studies, Strategic Communication for Impactful Partnership serves as a comprehensive manual for NGOs, government agencies, social enterprises and development organisations. It covers foundational models, stakeholder engagement, storytelling, community-led approaches and adaptive strategies—supported by practical tools informed by the authors’ rich field experience with UNICEF, UNESCO, the World Bank and other international bodies.
