MICA, Ahmedabad, gears up to host the 9th International Communication Management Conference (ICMC), commencing on Wednesday, January 04, 2023. Spanning over four days, the conference, based on the theme ‘Enhancing Customer Engagement: Connecting AI with Humans’ will bring research scholars and industry experts to discuss, delve and dissect knowledge on how humans and machines can function together seamlessly.

This year, ICMC will have the Department of Marketing, J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University (USA) as its academic partner. With industry-led talks, business leaders’ panels, and teach-in sessions with experts, the conference platform will look into ways and means by which humans and machines can complement and amplify their capabilities across multiple sectors and scales while keeping customer experience at the center. The conference will also address how businesses can adapt to the next tech to improve customer experience and customer journeys as they switch to ‘Marketing 5.0’ in a world of the digital divide.

Dr. Shailendra Raj Mehta, President & Director, MICA, said, “The 9th ICMC shall witness the coming together of globally eminent academicians and practitioners as they discuss, debate and delve into the evolution of marketing due to the growing influence of artificial intelligence and the increasing association between humans and machines in a digitally-enabled world.”
As a precursor to the event, the conference will host Young Scholars and Researchers Colloquium (YSRC) which provides a platform to doctoral candidates, young managers, and practitioners from the industry as well as early-career academics and postdoctoral candidates to present their research papers.

The conference will have two panel discussions – Academic and Industry panel. The academic panel discussion will be on the theme ‘AI and Customer Engagement: A techno-human approach to meaning-making’ with panelists Dr. Sridhar Guda – Professor, IIM Kozhikode, Prof. Arpan Kar – Amar S Gupta Chair Professor, Information Systems, Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi and Prof. Saravana Jaikumar – Assistant Professor, IIM Calcutta. The session will be moderated by MICA Prof. Shaphali Gupta.

The valedictory address will be delivered by Abhishek Gupta, Chief Customer Officer, Clevertap.
The Journal of Creative Communications (published by SAGE) will consider selected papers for publication.
