Gujarati cinema is set to welcome one of its most anticipated romantic comedies, Misri, releasing on Friday, October 31 — a film that blends heartfelt emotion, humour, and modern love into one sweet cinematic experience.
Produced by Vraj Films and presented by Juugaad Media in association with Zeel Production and Masoom Film, Misri stars National Award-winning actress Manasi Parekh and Raunaq Kamdar in the lead roles, with an ensemble cast including Tiku Talsania, Prem Gadhvi, Kavi Shastri, Kaushambi Bhatt, Princy Prajapati, and a special appearance by Hitu Kanodia.
At its heart, Misri tells the story of Pooja, a pottery instructor, and Arjun, a free-spirited photographer — two creative souls whose brief encounter turns into a journey of love, self-discovery, and emotional connection.
Director’s Take — Kushal M Naik
“Misri is a slice-of-life romance that mirrors how love happens today — unexpectedly, beautifully, and sometimes with a touch of chaos. It’s not just about romance but also about understanding oneself through relationships. Every frame, every line carries a piece of real emotion,” said director Kushal M. Naik, who has earlier worked on short-format narratives known for their emotional realism.

Manasi Parekh on playing Pooja
“Pooja is someone who finds meaning in small, beautiful things — like clay, colour, and connection. The character’s simplicity and emotional depth spoke to me instantly,” shared Manasi Parekh, adding, “Misri is about finding sweetness even when life feels messy. It’s the kind of story that makes you smile through tears.”

Raunaq Kamdar on his role as Arjun
“Arjun’s character reflects a generation that values freedom but craves connection. He’s spontaneous, imperfect, and deeply human. Working with Manasi was pure joy — our chemistry came naturally because the writing was honest,” said Raunaq Kamdar, one of Gujarati cinema’s most charismatic leading men.
Producers’ perspective — Krupa & Sanjay Soni
“We wanted to make a film that feels like a warm hug — real emotions, real laughter, and relatable love,” said Krupa Soni. “Misri isn’t just a film; it’s an experience that reminds audiences how beautiful ordinary love can be,” added Sanjay Soni, the co-producer, crediting the film’s success to its “stellar performances and cinematic simplicity.”
Cinematography & Music
Shot by Ankit Trivedi, the film promises stunning visuals that capture the essence of love and Gujarati landscapes. Its soothing music and dialogues further enhance the romantic rhythm of the story.
With its perfect blend of charm, humour, and heartfelt storytelling, Misri is poised to be one of Gujarati cinema’s biggest love stories of the year — a reminder that sometimes, the sweetest things in life come in small, serendipitous moments.
‘Misri’ — The biggest Gujarati rom-com of 2025. In theatres from October 31.
