CHENNAI, MARCH 4
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a blistering attack on the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Monday, saying the regional party will not be allowed to “loot” the public money in Tamil Nadu. Countering this, Chief Minister MK Stalin said the Centre had failed to provide flood relief assistance to TN, but wanted TN’s votes and taxes.

Whatever the DMK has looted from the people of the state will be recovered and spent on the people of the state by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Modi said while addressing a public event in Chennai.
“The Centre is directly sending money to the beneficiary accounts. The DMK people are having a problem with this. I want to tell them (DMK) that Modi will not let you loot the money of the people of Tamil Nadu, and the money you looted will be recovered and spent for the people of the state. This is Modi’s guarantee.” he said. Recalling the Cyclone Michaung that had left a trail of devastation in Chennai in December last year, the prime minister alleged that the M.K. Stalin government was more focused on managing the media.
“People in Chennai were facing problems. Instead of helping them, they aggravated their problems. At the time of the crisis, DMK people were busy with media management instead of flood management. Water was filled inside the houses, but DMK was saying everything was fine,” Modi said, reported ANI.
The prime minister said his visits to Tamil Nadu leave many people upset because the popularity of the BJP is growing in the southern state.
Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that his Government has implemented schemes which will develop the Country and make it the third biggest economic power in the World. Addressing a public meeting at Chennai today he said that the Central government has been spending crores of Rupees in developing infrastructure in the State of Tamil Nadu and also for encouraging thousands of MSMEs. The Prime minister said that India is working on a large scale to meet up its energy requirements. He said that India has taken a big step in electricity generation from atomic power plants and within a few days it will start the process. He thanked all the Indians for this achievement.
The Prime Minister mentioned that today only in Telangana, many projects were inaugurated. In UP and Rajasthan Solar power plant was recently launched. He added that a few days ago in TN the first green hydrogen fuel was launched. He said that all these energy projects were inaugurated in the last fifty days. He stressed that the Indian government is planning to give free electricity to poor people and going to spend 75 thousand crores.
Hitting out at the ruling DMK government, he said that DMK never bothered about the poor people who were living in poverty. During the floods, DMK mishandled the situation and was busy managing the media, he added.
Mr. Modi said that whether it is the Chennai metro, airport, smart City, Maduravayal expressway and many more projects, it was only the Modi Government which was instrumental in helping Tamilnadu Citizens in restoring their lives. He added that the Central government run by the BJP cares about poor people.
The Prime Minister also mentioned that the State government has been taking credit for the schemes which were implemented by the Central Government during the COVID period. He assured that the corrupt politicians will be caught. The BJP leader also hit out at the Dynasty politics of DMK.

While inaugurating the Integrated Collectorate complex of Mayiladuthurai district built at a cost of ₹ 114.48 crore at Mannampandal , Chief Minister MKStalin on Monday accused the BJP-led Union government of ignoring the genuine demands of the Tamil Nadu government and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was only frequenting the State as the Lok Sabha polls are around the corner.
“The Prime Minister can visit the State, but at the same time, he should consider the genuine demands put forth by the State government. They [the BJP government at the Centre] neglected our request to release ₹37,000 crore towards flood relief following the two disasters in December last year. They want the taxes and votes from Tamil Nadu in order to retain power,” Stalin alleged.
“But they cannot deceive the people of Tamil Nadu who always stand on the side of the ‘Dravidian Model’ government that works for the rights and development of the State,” he added.
