AHMEDABAD, NOV 25
Marking a high-voltage entry into western India, Montra Electric, the clean mobility vertical of the Murugappa Group, has launched its first Small Commercial Vehicle (e-SCV) dealership in Ahmedabad through its partner DHI Mobility Pvt Ltd. The debut facility strengthens the company’s nationwide expansion and positions Montra Electric at the centre of one of India’s strongest logistics and industrial markets.

Speaking at the launch, Saju Nair, CEO, Montra Electric (e-SCV Division), said: “Gujarat is a vital market for commercial mobility, and Ahmedabad sits at the centre of it. Gujarat’s EV Push Creates Strong Tailwinds for e-SCVs
Montra Electric’s Gujarat foray arrives at a time when the state is aggressively promoting electric mobility, offering a suite of incentives that significantly lower acquisition and operational costs for commercial EV fleet operators.
Key Incentives Under Gujarat EV Policy
- ₹10,000 per kWh state subsidy on battery capacity (in addition to central FAME incentives).
- Maximum subsidy up to 40% of ex-factory price for eligible EVs.
- 1% EV road tax till March 31, 2026 — a substantial reduction from the earlier 6%.
- 25% capital subsidy for public charging stations, capped at ₹10 lakh for the first 250 stations.
- 100% electricity duty exemption for EV charging infrastructure during the policy period.
These incentives make Gujarat one of the most cost-efficient states in India for adopting electric small commercial vehicles, sharply enhancing ROI for transporters, e-commerce fleets, MSMEs, and intra-city logistics operators.
EVIATOR: Built for India’s Commercial Future
The dealership will showcase the Montra Electric EVIATOR, India’s first Tru EV small commercial vehicle engineered to deliver high productivity, durability and lower total cost of ownership.
Core performance highlights include:
- 1.7-ton payload capacity

- Real-world range of 170 km
