“The move to invite fishermen, teachers and farmers to the celebrations of Independence Day is a very good gesture. This is possibly the first time ever that so many common people have been invited as guests to the celebrations. It is a good move,” Morari Bapu said during his Ram Katha at the University of Cambridge on Tuesday morning.

The country celebrated its 77th Independence Day with fervour on Tuesday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the celebrations from the ramparts of the Red Fort. In addition to top political leaders, bureaucrats, judges, and other dignitaries, the Centre invited 1,800 people from different walks of life as guests at the celebrations.
