Union Minister of State of Railways & Textiles. Darshana Jardosh held a high level review meeting with AK Agarwal, General Manager, Southern Railway & ICF here on Wednesday.
AK Agarwal briefed the Minister about the status of various infrastructural, Safety and passenger amenity works.
The Minister elaborately discussed about the ongoing capacity augmentation and suggested proactive measures to improve passenger amenities at railway stations over Southern Railway’s jurisdiction. She also reviewed the progress of installation of CCTV cameras under Nirbhaya Scheme and Video Surveillance System (VSS) at railway stations.
A power point presentation was made apprising the Minister on the performance of Southern Railway in the current financial year.
Darshana Jardosh also suggested the Zone should explore the avenues of rail transportation of textile products from major textile cities.
BG Mallya, Additional General Manager, Principal Heads of Departments and other Senior Officials of the Zone participated in the meeting.

Earlier in the morning, the Minister visited the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai and flagged off DEMU coaches manufactured for Sri Lanka at the workshop.
