Rajya Sabha MP Ramilaben Bara on Tuesday said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, policy formulation is being done keeping in mind the four pillars – youth, women, farmers and poor.

Ramilaben Bara was speaking as the Chief Guest at the 44th Foundation Day Celebration of NABARD here. Dr. Gajanan Dange, Senior Social Activist, Chairperson, ‘Yojak’ was the Guest of Honour
Ramilaben Bara, MP said, “The Foundation Day celebration of NABARD is a celebration of the development of rural India. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, policy formulation is being done keeping in mind these four pillars – youth, women, farmers and poor.”
Ramilaben appreciated the efforts of NABARD towards agriculture and rural development with special mention of NABARD’s Watershed, Wadi, SHG, FPO etc. and added that NABARD through its District Development Managers is involved in the grassroots work happening all over India. The government is running many schemes to make the poor self-reliant and, in this regard, NABARD has the direction that can change the condition of rural India positively.
Gajanan Dange, Chairman, ‘Yojak’ while congratulating the NABARD staff on the Foundation Day said, “India is a country of villages and in the last more than four decades, NABARD has become the lifeline of these villages.”
Sharing his experience of being associated with NABARD since 1993, Dange said that NABARD is an institution which follows professionalism with Indian values. He added that the pilot project of NABARD like- SHG, Watershed and FPO have been a great success and now being implemented at larger scale.

While greeting the representatives of banks and agricultural institutions from different regions of Gujarat, B.K. Singhal, Chief General Manager (CGM), NABARD Gujarat RO, said, “NABARD does not consider them as customers but as partners and based on this partnership, NABARD is committed to rural prosperity.”
“Women’s participation in farming has increased due to various reasons. We are witnessing feminzation of farming, but we have a long way to go in terms of the feminisation of farmland ownership, the feminisation of rural loans and the feminization of producer organizations (FPOs, OFPOs). Unless women are empowered, development will not be inclusive and balanced,” the CGM added.
On this occasion, a tree plantation was done on the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and the guests visited the exhibition put up by the Farmer Producer Organizations associated with the FPO program of NABARD and the beneficiary communities of the tribal development program and gave them suggestions for business development. NABARD also felicitated the best performing cooperative banks and cooperatives in various categories.
