Southern Railway has commissioned the CCTV surveillance system in Nagercoil Junction and Kanniyakumari railway station under the Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division. The facilities were inaugurated by R. Baskaran, Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer, Southern Railway on Friday.
Besides this, he also inaugurated an advanced IP Railway Exchange System at Nagercoil junction, said a release.
Baskaran also inaugurated various other projects/innovations carried out by the Signal & Telecommunication Department of Thiruvananthapuram Division.
On this occasion, R Dinesh, Sr. Divisional Signal & Telecommunication Engineer and Suni S, Divisional Signal & Telecommunication Engineer, Thiruvananthapuram Division were present. The Covid 19 protocols were holistically followed during the inaugural programme.
As part of railways’ green initiative, the top officials also planted tree saplings in various premises of the railway in Nagercoil and Kanniyakumar, the release from Divisional PRO added.
