Narayana Hospital, Ahmedabad, a unit of Narayana Health, one of India’s leading healthcare institutions, organized a deeply moving and impactful children healthcare Awareness Event at the Ahmedabad Management Association, themed “Dilon Ki Kahaani, Bachhon Ki Zubaani” — stories of the heart, through the voices of children here on Saturday. The event brought together over 300 attendees, including civic dignitaries, senior medical professionals, corporate healthcare leaders, and families touched by pediatric cardiac care.
Gracing the occasion were Pratibha Jain, Mayor of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, and Gyanendra Singh Malik, Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad City, as Chief Guests, along with Dr. Unmesh Upadhyay, Past President – Academics of Pediatrics, Ahmedabad Branch, as Guest of Honour.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the dignitaries, joined by Hemant Bhatnagar, Facility Director, Narayana Hospital, Ahmedabad, and the hospital’s senior Cardiac Sciences team — Dr. Atul Maslekar, Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon, and Dr. Divyesh Sadadiwala, Senior Consultant Pediatric Cardiologist.
Welcoming everyone, Hemant Bhatnagar expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guests and reaffirmed Narayana Hospital’s vision of delivering high-quality, affordable cardiac care for all children. “We don’t just treat hearts — we restore childhoods, dreams, and futures,” he said, as he shared stories of recent life-saving surgeries, many of which were conducted free of cost by the hospital’s dedicated team.
Mayor Pratibha Jain praised the hospital’s mission-driven work and highlighted the significance of early diagnosis and outreach to underprivileged communities. “Every healthy heartbeat in a child is a promise to the future,” she said, applauding the team’s compassionate approach.
City Police Commissioner Gyanendra Singh Malik lauded the medical excellence demonstrated by Narayana Hospital and called for greater community partnerships to ensure every child in need gets timely access to advanced cardiac care.
Dr. Unmesh Upadhyay, in his address, emphasized the growing importance of pediatric cardiology as a specialized field. “What sets Narayana Hospital apart,” he noted, “is not just the surgical success, but the human touch — the empathy with which each case is handled, and the dignity offered to every family.”
Doctors Atul Maslekar and Divyesh Sadadiwala presented remarkable cases of rare pediatric cardiac conditions successfully treated at the hospital, reinforcing its position as a center of excellence for pediatric heart care.
The emotional peak of the event came as parents of young patients shared heartfelt testimonials. Their stories of resilience, faith, and recovery filled the hall with emotion — a poignant reminder of the profound impact that expert medical care can have on entire families.
To lighten the atmosphere for the children, the event also featured fun-filled moments, including a magic show, appearances by cartoon characters, and music, creating smiles that echoed the healing journeys celebrated throughout the day.
