The Hospital Board of India, General Insurance Council, Insurance Companies, TPAs, IMA TNSB, Nursing Home Board of IMA Tamil Nadu, Insurance Committee of IMA TNSB, and IMA Coimbatore have jointly conducted a two-day “National Health Insurance Summit – 2023” here on Saturday and Sunday.
The theme of the summit was “Redefining Health Insurance: A Collaborative Approach to Building Sustainable Healthcare Systems”

This two-day summit was organized to provide healthcare professionals, insurance and TPA executives with the knowledge and methods to increase insurance penetration to the public, and also help the patients during their medical emergencies and medical care needs by working together with insurance companies.
The summit has passed five important resolutions, including one that calling for the establishment of an independent high-powered health insurance grievances redress tribunal.
The tribunal should address grievances and disputes in a fair and impartial manner, providing an efficient mechanism for dispute resolution for health insurance providers to give appropriate medical care to patients.
“Increasing the number of hospitals by empanelling all eligible hospitals by establishing a transparent single-window process.” This will ensure patients are treated by the doctors of their choice and near their homes. This will also provide equal opportunities for all member hospitals.
Scientific costing of healthcare services in tune with medical services needed by patients and also use advancements in medicine to patients benefit. Hospitals and insurers to coordinate and collaborate to provide better service to patients.
The National Health Insurance Summit strongly advocated for the participation of IMA, Doctors associations in the formulation new policies, documentation, and pricing to ensure patient are benefited.
