The Department of Posts will celebrate National Postal Week from 6th to 10th October, 2025, with a series of events designed to highlight the evolving role of India Post in connecting people, empowering citizens, and strengthening last-mile delivery across the country.
Announcing the celebrations, Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General, North Gujarat Region, Ahmedabad, said that this year’s Postal Week has been designed to showcase India Post’s commitment to modernization and innovation, with a strong focus on advanced postal technology, financial inclusion, citizen-centric services, and customer engagement.
“Postal Technology is transforming the network into a faster, more reliable, and transparent system. Beyond traditional services, citizen-centric postal and financial services are reaching every corner of the country, enabling financial inclusion, digital empowerment, and last-mile connectivity,” Mr. Yadav stated.
Thematic Days of National Postal Week 2025
- 6th October (Monday): Technology Day
- 7th October (Tuesday): Financial Inclusion Day
- 8th October (Wednesday): Philately & Citizen-Centric Services Day
- 9th October (Thursday): World Post Day
- 10th October (Friday): Customer Day
World Post Day – October 9
Observed globally on the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) established in 1874, World Post Day creates awareness about the vital role of postal services in daily life, commerce, and development. This year’s theme is “#POST FOR PEOPLE LOCAL SERVICE. GLOBAL REACH”, underlining the universal role of postal networks.
Engaging the Public, Inspiring the Youth
To foster awareness among the younger generation, school children will be invited to visit post offices and mail offices, experiencing first-hand the operations and heritage of the postal system. Activities like Quizzes, Stamp Design Competitions, and the Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Competition will be organised.
Other events include:
- Financial Inclusion Camps (with focus on Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana)
- Postal Life Insurance and RPLI Camps
- Dak Chaupal in rural areas
- Tree plantation drive under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative
- Postathon Walk promoting Vocal for Local
- Nukkad Natak on customer service sensitivity
Special customer meets will be held for bulk clients to share new initiatives under Mails & Parcels and to obtain feedback on services. Awareness programmes on Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra (DNK) will also help ODOP, GI and MSME exporters access better postal export facilities.
“National Postal Week 2025 is not just a celebration but a reaffirmation of India Post’s mission to innovate, modernize, and remain people-centric while carrying forward its glorious legacy,” Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav said.
