The National Science Day was celebrated in CVRDE at Arjun Auditorium on Friday. To mark the occasion, a special Speech was delivered by Mr.G. Palanivel, Head (R&QA) on the topic of “System Engineering Model for Quality Management of Armoured Fighting Vehicles”.
The CVRDE Director Mr. V. Balamurugan, Outstanding Scientist in his keynote address said that Sir CV Raman is an epitome to Indian Scientists while describing the Raman Effect. He also covered in his speech the theme of this year National Science Day: “Women in Science”. He also praised the outstanding scientific contribution of International women Scientists with special mention about Indian women scientists.
The function was attended by Scientists, Technical Officers and other employees of the organisation.
National Science Day is celebrated in India every year on February 28 February to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman on 28 February 1928, for which he was awarded with Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
