A naval diving team has retrieved one body with sunken car in Rajkot village, says a Defence release.
Based on a request received from the civil administration for diving assistance at Dondi Dam near Chhapra village, Rajkot, a naval diving team was dispatched on Monday from INS Sardar Patel.
The naval team was asked to recover/ rescue two occupants of a car that got sunk near the dam bridge on Mondaymber 2021 due to incessant rains and flooding.
With the assistance of local authorities, the naval diving team undertook diving operations for over ten hours to salvage the car and recover mortal remains of one of the occupants. The search efforts for the second missing person was continued on Wednesday, the statement added.
