The festival of Navli Navratri, a time when tradition and devotion merge with cultural celebration, was marked with a Grand Maha Aarti by the residents of Vraj Deep Apartment Society in Maninagar here. The nine-day festival, dedicated to worshipping the nine forms of Goddess Durga, embodies both spiritual elevation and social togetherness.

Navratri is celebrated in two distinct ways — the traditional form that emphasizes fasting, prayers, devotional music and aarti, and the modern expression seen in the vibrant Garba and Dandiya nights that have become cultural hallmarks. During these sacred days, Goddess Durga, along with her manifestations like Kali, Chamunda, Annapurna and Ambaji, is revered with deep devotion.

As lamps were lit across homes and temples, the residents of Vraj Deep Society gathered in large numbers for the Maha Aarti, filling the atmosphere with chants, rhythm of claps, and the fragrance of incense. The spiritual resonance of the ritual was coupled with the joy of collective participation, reinforcing values of faith, unity, and shared cultural identity.
Beyond devotion, Navratri is also a celebration of harmony and social bonding. Programs such as Garba, Dandiya and community feasts enhance brotherhood, while collective prayers strengthen ties among neighbours. The Maha Aarti at Maninagar became a symbol of togetherness, where residents not only offered prayers to the Goddess but also reaffirmed their commitment to community life and cultural heritage.
With traditions passed down through generations blending seamlessly with modern cultural expressions, Navli Navratri continues to remain a festival of faith, festivity, and fraternity.
