Navrachana University, the region’s premier multi-disciplinary private university, on Wednesday announced its Provost Prof Pratyush Shankar has been selected to lead The Humboldt Residency Program 2023 in Germany as Creative Director.
With the theme “Our Precious Resources: Pathways to a Secure and Sustainable Future”, The Humboldt Program 2023 delves into the potential of reimagining our collective approach to natural resources for a more sustainable and secure future. At the intersection of global ecological urgency, political volatility, and societal conditions, the program fosters a greater exchange between scientific and non-scientific communities to inspire solutions to humanity’s most pressing questions.
Under the program, Prof Shankar is leading a multi-disciplinary team of academics, activists, journalists, and artists in exploring the vital themes of Sustainable Development and Climate Change.
Commenting on the program and his role as the Creative Director, Prof Pratyush Shankar, said, “Today, our identity as humans depends on how we behave towards natural resources, how we interact with them and reshape them to produce ideas and the material world in which we live. Developing a deeper understanding of our relationship with nature is the key to unlocking a sustainable future. The need of the hour is collective thought and action to preserve our resources and forge a path to a secure and sustainable future.”
