To foster a sense of unity and nationalism amongst the NCC cadets and familiarising them with the paired states, NCC Gujarat Directorate is holding a six-day ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ (EBSB) online camp for 200 selected Senior NCC Cadets from West Bengal, Sikkim, and Gujarat, an NCC release said.

The theme of this online EBSB is ‘Yuva Shakti Se Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Ka Nirman’, which forms the backdrop of all the training. The main objectives of this annual camp are to develop leadership skills, enhance the knowledge base and public speaking abilities, peer learning through mutual interaction, foster team spirit, and esprit de corps, improve soft skills, understand the culture of one’s own state and the participating states.
The camp is being organised under the guidance of Major General Roy Joseph, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Diu and Daman; and conducted by a team led by Brigadier RK Gaikwad, Group Commander, NCC Group HQ, VV Nagar, the release added.
The topics being covered during the camp include a presentation on the history, geography, economy, good practices, SWOT analysis, cultural heritage, festivals, customs, and traditions of the states. The initiatives taken by these states for ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’ will be discussed in detail through various presentations, discussions, and clips. Learning the language of each other viz Gujarati & Bengali and Interaction in the language is one of the highlights of the camp. In addition, learning resources about cuisine and food habits, tourism sites, and cultural programmes of the states will be shared extensively. Quiz and debate competitions will also be held during the course of the camp.
It is highlighted that NCC being the largest youth organization of India, the organization has quickly adapted to the e-learning medium of study for conducting NCC training. The first-day curriculum of EBSB (online) was very well received by all the attendees, giving them an excellent opportunity to interact with each other. The camp will continue up to Independence Day, August 15, 2020.
