“The real challenge started during the lockdown period, wherein the cadets of this Directorate were the first ones to be deployed in the support of the Civil administration. As part of Exercise Yogdan, the cadets were deployed for nonstop 43 days from April 8 to May 19, 2020. During July blood donation camps were conducted in coordination with the Indian Red Cross Society. The efforts of the Directorate were highly appreciated by  Raksha Mantri,  Governor of Gujarat,  Chief Minister of Gujarat, and  Education Minister of Gujarat,” Major General Roy Joseph said.

The ADG added that during this year, the Directorate has been able to progress the cases of NCC Academy coming up at Rajkot and Navli. Modernization of training has been implemented by 02 Air and 06 Naval Simulators that have been commissioned for Flying and Naval training at various locations.  Also, latest Sports Shooting Rifles have been procured. These modern training aids and equipment would act immensely as enablers for training.

Starting with Online EBSBs, webinars and online classes, you have been taking enthusiastic part in all and making sure that there are NO obstacles created by the pandemic as far as the NCC is concerned. (8/11) @HQ_DG_NCC @SpokespersonMoD pic.twitter.com/0NEUQgKR7H

Starting with EBSBs, webinars and online classes and the process of enrolments have all been conducted Online. Besides the cadets also participated in tree plantations in their areas, motivated others for physical fitness, and actively participated in international yoga day along with their families. The active involvement of the Cadets on the “Yog Karishu, Corona Ne Haravishu” campaign launched by the Chief Minister of Gujarat was highly appreciated by all.

Most importantly, I want you to continue on the path of online NCC Training, especially using the DG NCC Training App which is an excellent tool to fill the void created by the prolonged closure of schools and colleges. (10/11) @PIBAhmedabad @HQ_DG_NCC pic.twitter.com/ZojBIrMRw7
