When asked about the reason for joining YSRCP, Rao said, “The welfare schemes being implemented by Chief Minister are being very helpful to the poorer sections of the society and in a small span of six months, he has implemented 80% of his poll promises and he is treating the party manifesto as a holy book.”
On the local issues, he said that he has no personal rancour with any leader and will work on the party lines to strengthen it further, he said. Masthan Rao’s joining will further consolidate the strength of YSRCP in Nellore district, where the party made a clean sweep in 2019 elections.

Discipline is the most important factor in the party and anyone acting against the party interests will not be spared, irrespective of their stature, he said.
