Aiming to implement the University Grants Commission (UGC) policy regarding introduction of NCC as an elective subject in the academic curriculum, Colonel KS Mathur, Group Commander, NCC Group HQ Jamnagar and Colonel Pratim Kumar Hembrom, Commanding Officer, 36 Gujarat Battalion NCC Bhuj met VC Kutch University, Prof Dr Jayraj Singh Jadeja. The trio discussed the modalities of implementing the new NCC scheme in the curriculum which will allow desirous students to be part of NCC with comparatively lesser academic burden, says a release.
The new policy will have an impact on sizeable student population desirous of joining NCC. Colonel Mathur exhorted all Commanding Officers, Associate NCC Officers and Principals of colleges in Bhuj and Jamnagar Districts to give impetus to popularise and implement the ambitious scheme in maximum institutions, the release stated.
