Alongside the Digital University launch, Vaishnaw also virtually inaugurated five new NIELIT Centres in Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Balasore (Odisha), Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Lunglei (Mizoram), and Daman (UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu) — extending the reach of quality digital education to remote and underserved areas.
Bridging the Gap Between Skills & Industry
Reinforcing the vision of aligning skilling with real-world opportunities, Shri Vaishnaw urged NIELIT to partner with the Top 500 companies across industries and follow the motto “YOU DECIDE WHAT TO TEACH.” This would ensure that every course is tailored to meet actual industry demands, helping youth secure high-quality jobs in fast-growing sectors like electronics manufacturing — now a ₹13 lakh crore industry.
To achieve this, NIELIT signed MoUs with Microsoft, Zscaler, CCRYN, Dixon Technologies, and Future Crime Exchange, creating a strong bridge between academia and industry.
A Call to Youth
“Youth must seize this opportunity,” the Union Minister emphasized, “NIELIT will not just prepare you for jobs but also equip you to create jobs. With India’s growing role in the global tech ecosystem, the future belongs to those who are skilled, adaptable, and entrepreneurial.”
National Momentum
The event saw participation from MPs, MLAs, 1,500+ students, academicians, and industry experts, with special focus on Northeast India, where the new Lunglei Centre symbolizes both rail and digital connectivity. A high-powered panel discussion on “Role of AI in Digitalization of Education” brought together thought leaders from Intel, Infosys, Microsoft, and Barco, who stressed the importance of industry-aligned learning pathways and entrepreneurship-driven skilling models.
A Platform to Shape Careers & Create Futures
Built with the vision of Digital India, Skill India, and NEP 2020, the NIELIT Digital University offers NCVET-approved, NSQF-aligned courses with Academic Bank of Credit integration and verifiable digital certificates. Students can design their own learning pathways, gain exposure to live projects, and earn credentials that match global employability standards.
With its inclusive and affordable learning model, the Digital University is expected to be a game-changer for India’s youth, empowering them to lead in Industry 4.0, drive startups, and shape India’s digital future.
