Pious month of Sawan is starting soon. Everyone wishes that he or she can have a glimpse of the Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva and get their blessings. Now such devotees need not to be disappointed. Through the Speed Post service of the Department of Posts, people can get the offerings (Prasadam) of first Jyotirlinga Shree Somnath (Gujarat) and Shri Kashi Vishwanath (Varanasi) at their door steps in any corner of the country. In the month of Sawan, Postal Department has made special arrangements for this, said Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General of North Gujarat & Saurashtra and Kachchh Region here on Wednesday.
Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav said, “Under an agreement signed between Shri Somnath Trust and the Department of Posts, any devotee can order Prasad through Speed Post by placing an e-Money Order of ₹270 to the Manager, Shri Somnath Trust, Prabhas Patan, District- Junagadh, Gujarat-362268. This e-money order will have to be marked as “Booking for Prasad”. After that, a packet of 400 grams of Prasad will be sent by Speed Post to the concerned devotee by Shri Somnath Trust. Prasad will contain 200 grams Magas Laddoo, 100 grams of Sesame Chikki and 100 grams peanut Chikki.”
The Postmaster General further added that, “Under an agreement between Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir Trust and the Department of Posts, devotees can get Shri Kashi Vishwanath Prasad through Speed Post by sending e-money order of ₹ 251 in the name of Senior Superintendent Post Offices, Varanasi (East) Division-221001 from their nearest Post Office. As soon as the e-money order is received, the Prasad will be sent by Speed post to the given address immediately by Postal Department. The Prasad includes the image of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, Mahamrityunjaya Yantra, Shri Shiv Chalisa, 108 beads of Rudraksh garland, coin having Bhole Baba’s image inscribed with Mata Annapurna, Bhabhuti, Raksha Sutra, Rudraksh bead, dry fruits, mishri packet etc.”
He also added that the Postal Department has made arrangements that the devotees may get the details of Speed Post on mobile number through SMS. For this, it will be mandatory for them to write their full address, Pin Code and mobile number in the e-money order.
