Manohar Nihalani, an educationalist and a renowned Sindhi author, was conferred with the Gujarat Government’s “Sahitya Gaurav Pursakar 2020” for his overall achievement in the field of literature at a function held on August 28, at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
He was conferred with the award for the year 2019, under the Sindhi Sahitya Akademi’s policy of awarding those litterateurs, who have turned 80, for their overall contribution in enriching Sindhi language and its development.
He was awarded a citation and a prize of Rs 1 lakh, by the then Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
In 2020, Nihalani was awarded with Rs 1 lakh for his collection of one-act plays “Bevasi”, by the National Council for Promotion of Sindhi Language (NCPSL). His book, published in 2016, was selected for the award for the year 2018-19.”
