PUNE, MAR 27
In a defining demonstration of whole-of-nation preparedness, Southern Command Indian Army executed a sweeping Military Civil Fusion Abhiyan—a first-of-its-scale, multi-agency initiative that brought together the Armed Forces, civil administration, security agencies, academia, and industry to forge a unified national response framework for emerging and complex threats.

Spanning key locations across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and the southern states, the Abhiyan showcased a powerful convergence of operational, technological, administrative, and knowledge capabilities, reinforcing the Indian Army’s commitment to integrated security architecture.

Fusion in Action: From Strategy to Street-Level Coordination
The initiative saw active participation from Central Armed Police Forces, state law enforcement, disaster response agencies, civil aviation bodies, forest and mining authorities, NCC, academic institutions, and industry partners—creating a holistic ecosystem of preparedness.

This collaboration enabled stakeholders to align on common operating procedures, enhance situational awareness, and strengthen response mechanisms across domains such as internal security, airspace monitoring, disaster management, and protection of critical infrastructure.

Top Brass Drives Strategic Foresight
A high-level Table Top Exercise at Headquarters Southern Command, Pune, assessed evolving multi-domain threats in the hinterland. The exercise was presided over by Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, with participation from senior officials of the Government of Maharashtra, Divisional Railway Managers, and representatives from CAPF and law enforcement agencies.

Multi-City Execution, One Unified Objective
From Aundh Military Station in Pune, where joint drills validated coordinated crisis response, to Bhopal’s Counter-UAS seminar involving Airports Authority of India and aviation stakeholders—each engagement was tailored to address evolving security needs.

At Babina, integrated operations involving the Army, Police, Forest, and Mining departments enhanced grassroots coordination through surveillance and joint patrolling. Chennai’s Victory War Memorial hosted a high-level security conference focusing on internal security and crisis response, while Belagavi, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer witnessed intensified cooperation in training, intelligence sharing, and strategic readiness.

Beyond Coordination: A Shared National Mission
What set the Abhiyan apart was the spirit of collective purpose—with military and civil agencies working side by side, leveraging each other’s strengths. The initiative improved information flows, accelerated decision-making, and built mutual trust, ensuring a more agile and synchronized response to dynamic challenges.
