R ARIVANANTHAM

‘Oru Nodi’, Tamil crime thriller, is written and directed by debutant director Manivannan. This film is produced by Madurai Alagar Movies and White Lamp Pictures.

This film is based on Alankanallur area of Madurai, which is known for jallikattu or bull taming. At the beginning of the film, a woman named Sakundala complains to the police that her husband is missing. Police are searching the missing person based on her complaint. Inspector Paruthi Ilamaran is investigates this case. Then the police arrest Karimedu Thiaku on the basis of the suspicion that he might have kidnapped the missing person.

  • Kudos to director Mani Varman, who has created two different stories in a single film into a good screenplay
  • Actor Thamankumar has played the role of Inspector Paruthi Ilamaran in the film
  • Vela Ramamurthy is menacing in the role of Karimedu Thiagu

On the other hand, a young woman is found mysteriously dead. Then the police investigate the reason behind her murder. What happened to the missing person in the end? Who killed that girl? Is the murder related to the missing person? The director has narrated the story that in crime style. Actor Thamankumar has played the role of Inspector Paruthi Ilamaran in the film.

This is his first film as a hero in the silver screen. He gave his best performance in the first film. In this film, he has done his realistic performance and the investigation. Vela Ramamurthy is menacing in the role of Karimedu Thiagu. Following them, the other actors in the film have done their job well.

Also, it is commendable that the director has given two different stories as one story in the same film. The editing and background music have given the film strength. The music is excellent as the director has given anticipation of what will happen.

There are some logical flaws in the film. However, the storyline doesn’t think so. Especially in the climax scene, the director has combined both the stories at the same place and it is good.

Overall, the director has given the film in the style of a great crime thriller.

Kudos to director Mani Varman, who has created two different stories in a single film into a good screenplay.
