In a proud moment of the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, the Academy’s Horse was awarded General-Officer-Commanding-in-Chief Army Training Command (ARTRAC) Commendation Card on 15th Aug 2021 towards recognition of stellar services being the part of eleven consecutive Passing Out Parades at OTA, Chennai.
The Indian Army horse has the exclusive distinction of being an Adjutant’s Horse during the passing out parades and ceremonial events of the academy.
The sixteen years old horse ‘Prince’ is the most experienced member of the horses contingent taking part in the Passing-out-Parades held twice every year. Due to his elan, grace and calm behaviour, ‘Prince’ has always been the best choice for the parade.
The award was pinned on the horse on Wednesday (Sep 1, 2021) by Lt Gen MK Das, Commandant, OTA Chennai following the rich traditions of Indian Army, according to a release from Defence PRO.
