More than 150 runners completed the 15-km route along with the teams of 75 uniformed personnel, others covered 7,500 steps holding the Tiranga to mark the campaign of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ on Saturday in Jamnagar.
“IAF Azadi MahaRun” was conducted by the Air Force Station Jamnagar as part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 glorious years of Independence.
The run was flagged off at the historic Lakhota Lake covering the significant landmarks and rich cultural site of the city. The event witnessed participation by a large number of residents from Jamnagar who joined air warriors, soldiers and sailors serving in defence establishments located in the city.
While more than 150 runners completed the 15-km route along with the teams of 75 uniform personnel, others covered 7,500 steps holding the Tiranga to mark the campaign of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’. The participants also included civil dignitaries, members from civil administration and students from over 28 schools and colleges.
A total of 40 winners were felicitated under different categories for the 15-km and 5.1-km segments. All the schools, colleges and institutions were acknowledged for their participation. A highlight of the event was the overwhelming response from all age groups and sections of the local population who demonstrated much patriotic fervour alongside the air warriors to celebrate India’s 75th year of Independence. Indian Air Force (IAF) expresses its sincere gratitude to the people of Jamnagar for making this event a resounding success.
Through “IAF Azadi MahaRun”, the Indian Air Force reiterates its commitment to the service of the nation and fellow countrymen.
