Over 2,000 Valsurians took part in the International Day of Yoga celebrations held on Tuesday. The International Day of Yoga was celebrated at Indian Naval Ship (INS) Valsura, the premier electrical training establishment of the Indian Navy from May 30 to June 21, 2022.
In consonance with the theme “Yoga for Humanity” various event were organised that included month-long yoga session for ladies and children by expert Yoga Instructors from Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Jamnagar.
Towards all-round development of trainees, Yoga has also been infused within the regular training curriculum. Once a week, regular yoga sessions were organised which witnessed unequivocal participation from Officers, sailors and trainees.
Over 200 personnel from the establishment also participated in the Yoga Camp along with local population conducted by the District Administration at Jamnagar City.
To commemorate International Yoga Day, a mass yoga session was organised simultaneously at two different locations on Tuesday that saw active participation of over 2,000 Valsurians that included Officers, Sailors, Defence Civilian, DSC personnel and families.
The yoga session culminated with a talk on Yoga Practices for well being. On conclusion of the Yoga Session, Commanding Officer INS Valsura felicitated the Yoga Instructors. Prizes were also distributed to children who had participated in a Poster Making Competition on the theme of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
