Over 500 school children and NCC cadets on Monday visited the Indian Navy’s majestic warship, INS Delhi, to get an on-hand experience of the Navy’s might and the employment opportunity in the Defence sector.

INS Delhi had made a grand arrival at the Chennai harbour on Saturday, as part of the Navy Day Celebrations 2024. The ship’s impressive presence was a sight to behold, radiating energy and enthusiasm.

As part of the celebrations, Headquarters, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval Area organized a ship visit on Sunday, for veterans, serving officers, sailors and Defence Civilians, including their families. This unique opportunity allowed visitors to experience the sheer scale and might of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet.
During the visit, guests were given a guided tour of the ship, providing a glimpse into the daily lives of naval personnel. The event aimed to foster greater awareness and appreciation for the Indian Navy’s role in safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests.
On Monday, Headquarters, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval Area has organised a visit for 500 school children and NCC cadets onboard the INS Delhi. The event will also include the felicitation of JC Simon CHERA, a centenarian and ex-INS Delhi sailor.
