AHMEDABAD | SEPT 21
In an industry where regional cinema is stepping out of the shadows and into the spotlight, a new Gujarati film titled Over & Out is set to break boundaries. The project marks a powerful debut collaboration between MovieVerse Studios—the content arm of IN10 Media Network—and JOJO Studios, the film division of Gujarat’s fastest-growing OTT platform, JOJO App.
But this is no small-screen spin-off. This is Gujarati cinema with big-screen ambitions.
Set to go on floors this Navratri, Over & Out brings together some of the most loved names in the Gujarati entertainment industry—Raunaq Kamdar, Mitra Gadhvi, and Shraddha Dangar, under the direction of the fresh yet confident Kilol Parmar.
And while it’s a family entertainer at heart, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the film competes on a national scale.
“We’re done thinking small,” says Raunaq Kamdar, known for his versatility and understated intensity. “Gujarati cinema has matured—and our audience is ready for cinema that is rooted, yet ambitious. Over & Out is a family film, yes, but it’s also technically sharp, emotionally rich, and cinematically confident.”
A New Chapter: JOJO & MovieVerse Step In
The project is equally notable for the forces backing it. MovieVerse Studios is entering Gujarati cinema for the first time, while JOJO Studios—already a household name in Gujarati OTT—makes its theatrical film debut. Both studios see Over & Out as more than just a project. It’s a signal of intent.
“Gujarati cinema has a distinct voice,” says Vivek Krishnani, CEO, MovieVerse Studios. “This collaboration with JOJO Studios is about scale, heart, and creating cinema that transcends geography while celebrating cultural identity.”
“At JOJO Studios, we’ve always told stories that connect with people across generations,” adds Jay Kariya, Co-Founder, JOJO Studios. “Teaming up with MovieVerse gives us a canvas big enough to match our audience’s rising expectations.”
Cast Speaks: Not Just a Film, But a Feeling
Shraddha Dangar, who brings a strong emotional presence to every role, emphasizes the relatability of the film.
“I fell in love with the script because it felt like home—funny, chaotic, warm, and real. It’s the kind of story where you laugh through your tears. And I think families will see themselves in it,” she shares.
Mitra Gadhvi, whose comic timing and grounded performances have earned him a loyal following, believes this film is timed perfectly.
“Gujarati cinema has earned its moment. We’ve stopped playing catch-up and started setting the tone. With Over & Out, we’re proving we can blend fun, emotion, and production value just as well as any film industry in India,” says Mitra.
The Director’s Vision
Steering the ship is Kilol Parmar, a young filmmaker with a clear vision and deep respect for the audience.
“For me, Over & Out is not just a script—it’s a mirror to how we live, love, and forgive. I wanted to make a film that feels like a conversation with your own family. And thanks to the producers, we’re not being held back by budget. We’re going all in to create something beautiful, memorable, and very Gujarati at heart,” says Parmar.
Why This Film Matters
With Gujarati cinema enjoying a renaissance—from independent gems to commercial hits—Over & Out arrives at the right moment. Backed by studios with national reach, starring talent that resonates across demographics, and driven by a team that refuses to think small, this film is poised to be more than just another release—it could be a turning point.
“Budget will not be a constraint,” assures Dhruvin Shah, Founder of JOJO Studios. “We’re creating world-class content that matches the storytelling power of Hindi or South Indian films—but with a uniquely Gujarati soul.”
“Regional cinema is no longer regional in spirit,” adds Aditya Pittie, MD, IN10 Media Network. “The future is multilingual, multiregional, and multi-platform. Gujarati cinema is leading that future with confidence, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
What’s Next?
Over & Out goes into production this Navratri and is expected to hit theatres in early 2026. For Gujarati audiences—and indeed, for the Indian film landscape—this is one project to watch.
Because sometimes, a film isn’t just entertainment. It’s a statement.
