The Indian government has summoned a senior official from the Pakistan High Commission to register its protest against the alleged abduction of a Hindu girl midway through her marriage ceremony at Hala in Pakistan’s Sindh province two days ago on Tuesday, sources here said.
It was alleged that the teenage girl said to have been abducted by residents with the connivance of local police personnel on last Saturday. Before the complaint was lodged, the girl already been married off to a Pakistani man.
Minister for Minorities Affairs in Sindh Province, Hari Ram Kishori, on Tuesday took cognisance of the incident, which took place last week in Hala town of Matiari district in Sindh province, and asked for a police report.
