CHENNAI, JUNE 22
In a major citizen-centric initiative aimed at improving awareness and accessibility of social security services, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation and the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation will jointly conduct large-scale grievance redressal and public outreach programmes across six districts of Tamil Nadu on June 29, 2026.
- EPFO and ESIC Launch Joint ‘PF Near You’ and ‘Suvidha Samagam’ Outreach Drive on June 29
- Members, Pensioners and Employers to Receive On-the-Spot Guidance, Awareness and Grievance Resolution
- Simultaneous Public Sessions Planned Across Madurai, Dindigul, Theni, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram and Virudhunagar
- Initiative Aims to Strengthen Social Security Awareness and Improve Access to Labour Welfare Services
Starting at 9.15 am, the initiative—combining the popular ‘PF Near You’ and ‘Suvidha Samagam’ programmes—will provide members, pensioners and employers with a direct platform to seek assistance, clarify doubts and resolve issues related to provident fund, pension and ESI benefits without having to visit regional offices.
Organised under the jurisdiction of EPFO Regional Office, Madurai, the programme is designed to bring government services closer to the people while promoting greater awareness about social security entitlements available to workers and their families.
Officials said the outreach effort will focus on educating stakeholders about EPFO and ESIC schemes, helping beneficiaries understand their rights and facilitating speedy resolution of grievances relating to PF accounts, pension claims, UAN-related issues, employer compliance, ESI benefits and other service-related matters.
The simultaneous public interaction sessions will be held across Madurai, Ramanathapuram, Theni, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar and Dindigul districts.
Members covered under EPFO and ESIC, pensioners receiving retirement benefits and employers of registered establishments have been encouraged to participate and make use of the facility to obtain guidance and resolve pending issues.
Labour welfare experts note that such grassroots outreach programmes play a crucial role in improving awareness about social security schemes, particularly among workers in small and medium enterprises, unorganised sectors transitioning into formal employment and pensioners residing away from urban centres.
The initiative reflects the Ministry of Labour and Employment’s continued emphasis on strengthening last-mile delivery of services and ensuring that beneficiaries receive timely access to welfare measures designed to safeguard their financial and healthcare security.
Individuals seeking assistance on EPFO-related matters may register in advance through the designated online registration platform and attend the camp at the venue nearest to them.
By taking grievance redressal services directly to communities, EPFO and ESIC are not only addressing complaints but also empowering workers, retirees and employers with greater awareness of the social security protections available to them.
