The Department of English, PKR Arts College for Women in Gobichettipalayam in association with Tamil Nadu Adivasigal Munnetra Sangam of Asanur and Paran, Tribal Welfare Society, Kadambur celebrated the International Year of Millets 2023 here on Thursday.
- Students from the English department and Tribal people have jointly displayed samples of Millets, Millet Receipes, Value-Added foods and Traditional Tribal cuisine
- Tribal people have performed traditional dance with Traditional attire accompanied by Instrumental music (Pinachi Mathalam)
Vinay Kumar Meena IAS, Assistant Collector, Erode has inaugurated the celebration which saw the participation of nearly 100 Irulas, Uralis and Malayali Tribal people from 20 tribal hamlets of Thalavadi and Kadambur Hills.
In his address, Vinay Kumar Meena has appreciated the initiative and bold attempt to favour the flavour of rich in culture.

The focal point of the celebration was to set a role model for the students by honouring the people known for their outstanding commitment to the society.
