As the nation celebrates National Handloom Day on Monday, Modi said that for every Indian, it is the day to remind themselves of the resolution of ‘Vocal for Local’. Modi also accused Opposition of “negative politics”.
Modi also criticised the Opposition for not opposing the new Parliament building. “Unfortunately, a faction of the Opposition in our country is following the old ways even today..The country built a modern Parliament building…It has representation from the ruling as well as the Opposition. But this faction of the Opposition opposed the new Parliament building,” said Modi.
He is also added that for 70 years, they didn’t even build a war memorial for the Bravehearts of the country. “We redeveloped Kartavya Path and they opposed that too…When National War Memorial was built they felt no shame in criticising it…Even Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue of unity, the tallest building in the world, was criticised,” he added.
